Winter Hat, Booties and Mittens for baby Alice

My great grand-daughter is due in November, so I got busy and learned how to make booties and no scratch mittens. I have made hats before for my other grand children but never had tried booties or mittens. I was very happy with the outcome and have to say I love you tube.

100_6534I am going to become a great grandmother in November. I am so excited and thought I better get started on the blanket I am making to welcome our new little one into the world. I won’t be able to be there to wrap my arms around this little one but in every stitch I am putting into this crib blanket I am thinking of him or her. Each stich has a prayer, a blessing and a heart full of love.

100_6460My grand-daughter recently was married and now is looking forward to motherhood. Yes , I am going to be a great grandma and I am so very excited! Her husband is in the military and they had to move away so I want to keep in touch with her using my crafty stuff. So I decided to try a quilted postcard, with a cup that represents my coffee cup, something that she can relate me to, just to let her know that I am thinking of her and my love is with her.

Apron for Morgen

100_0602This Christmas I made an aprons for the girls and we got together and baked cookies.

SEW IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY CARD

I used the scrapbook factory on my computer to design the card and then added the embellishments. I made this card for one of my grand-daughters who likes to sew. I trimmed a rose from a piece of lace and glued it to the front of the card to the left of the rose I placed a little flower with a stone in the center, I used a raised zot so it would stand out. And I put a button in the upper right hand corner. I added the card to a basket of sewing notions and material. I think it made a nice gift.

Apron For Sammi

I made this apron for my granddaughter Samantha’s 19th birthday.

BAG FOR MORGEN

I had made my granddaughter Morgen a quilt and decided to make a reversabe bag to match with some of the material that was left over.
It makes a great overnight bag when staying with grandma.

TRASH BAG HOLDER

I don’t have the name of the pattern for this bag holder. My step mother gave me the pattern, It only takes four pieces of material.
One piece used to hold the bags, one for the apron, one for the ruffle on the bottom of the apron and one for the band at the top. I will take step by step pictures on the next one so I will have a record of how to make them.

EASY USEFUL POTHOLDERS

MAKES A NICE GIFT AND VERY EASY TO MAKE

My mother found this video on youtube and passed it on to me. I made a few potholders and I just love them. I slipped a pair of scissors into one of the pockets just to show where it was. The little pockets are great for slipping your hand in making them a little more secure and easy to use.
